Punekars say no to plastic bags

After the guidelines on single-use plastics were revised by the state government in 2016, Punekars came up with innovative strategies to curb plastic waste, such as upcycling, organising plastic-free events and plastic collection competitions and also spreading the word through murals and plogging. Despite many efforts, the drive to make the city plastic-free still remains a continuous struggle.
